I suggest you buy your own dishwashing cleaner and your own detergent for washing clothes. You may ask them to use their machine to wash your clothes, but use your own detergent. Then keep that detergent in your room. Once in a while, buy some vegetables or fruits (only what you can afford) and share it with them. I think they are acting stingy because they feel you are taking advantage of their hospitality (even if it is only imagined, on their part). Prices for everything have just gone so high these days that even having to share a bottle of soda is a touchy subject for anyone. They may be having financial issues that are forcing them to act the way they are acting. I am sure things will become more relaxed once you start sharing some things with them or having supplies of your own.
