Since last fortnight, in my home a peculiar problem is occurring. In kitchen sink at first floor and in some taps at ground floor there is sometimes a strong electric current present. It not only gives heavy shock but also light bulb of line tester also glows.
I have:
(a) Checked all electricity connections for any contact with water pipeline.
(b) Checked my Submersible water pump for any contact with electric supply with water.
(c) Isolated inverter supply by switching it off.
(d) Got all electric connection tested by my local electrician
Still the problem persists.
Please help urgently as this may prove lethal.

It sounds like somewhere in your house a live cable is in contact with some extraneous metal work and you pipework is not bonded. To identify which circuit it is you could turn them off one at a time testing the pipes each time you turn one off. This may give you a clue as to where abouts the problem is. What country are you in.

My house faced the similar problems but it was only during the rainy season. There used to be electric current in the water taps.
This is caused due to earthing problems. Get the earthing of your house corrected by some electrician and it will be okay.
have you checked the earth bonding.
have you got a RCD on the consumer unit.
has any plumbing or electrical work been done just before the problem happened.
i think bonding is with 6mm cable (maybe 8 or 10 depending on cable lengths), and unless you have all plastic water pipes you need to check that there is no potential difference between earth and neutral check that you also bond consumer unit to water and gas pipes
You have a neutral problem that is causing it to shock you.
Call another electrician your main house wirng is loose or not connected well some where. The neutral is carrying current to things that are grounded ike sinks etc.
ASAP call someone
Check for if your Geyser is having a problem. if any wires running out in the dirt (Underground soil) is exposed. Get a multimeter and check single lines, ie either +ve or -ve at a time to see which connection is working even all electric equipment are turned off. Call an electrician and find out what is wrong.
The wires some where in contact with the water or kitchen will be minutely exposed, ants can wire damage. Check the electric waste disposal if you have one.
Get a better electrician or have a plumber also come and look if the problem is there. The water lines may be having contact with some thing.
Also if current is flowing out the Earth or ground you may observe these things.
Get it checked and double checked.

Let me just check. you said that you are receiving ‘heavy electric shocks’ from your taps, and yet an electrician has been and not been able to sort it. AN ELECTRICIAN has actually been to your house and left, leaving live bathroom and kitchen taps. ARE YOU SURE. Is this person certified. I’m shocked. no pun intended, but something is very very wrong here.
It seems that the proper earthing is being disconnected somewhere. But, where it is, is difficult to find out. It is better to change your complete wiring. Call the emergency electricity staff and technicians first and once again test the entire wiring.
