We a just bought a 4-plex that was built in the mid 80’s. 2 of the units are in pretty bad shape and I want to make the place look as good as possible with out investing too much money. Currently it has the ugly walnut colored veneer plain cheap cabinets. I want to paint them white to give the illusion of a larger kitchen but most of the appliances are the original 80’s almond.
Has anyone done this. Did it look okay with the almond appliances. Can you send me a link to your pics if possible. Also I am open to any ideas you might have in regards to painting the cabinets with almond appliances.

Personally I would paint the cabinets to match the appliances with a Alkyd paint. Rough them slightly.Apply a good primer then the alkyd paint.Use a small roller to paint. Wait 30 days and apply polyurethane to seal it will eliminate yellowing and stand the test of abuse and scrubbing.
