First, colors appear different on different computers, so what we are seeing may be quite a bit different than reality.

As you are considering your color selections, keep in mind that cherry is a wood that develops character as it ages. The darker areas will tend to darken, the lighter areas will lighten more. Your top will be there for a while, so make sure you pick something that will go with the “new” color as well as the aged colors.

Your sample door looks to be fairly consistent, but cherry kitchens usually end up with a lot more variation than the showroom. Typically there would be some very light (we call them blond) streaks in some parts of the cabinets. If you read the literature carefully, you will usually find a statement about these characteristics indicating that you should expect the variations and that the variations are not considered defects. If this might be an issue, you should ask your supplier to clarify what you might be getting.

As for the counter material, many of the samples would be fine. I would avoid the bluish tints. I would also avoid the entire second row from the bottom because they look to be very similar to your tile. This will make the top blend into the room and detract from the “pop”. I really like the bottom row far right, top row center as a second, second row far right as a third choice. All of these are rather bold and somewhat dark, so you would want to make sure you have good lighting but I think it would look sharp. If you want something lighter and less dramatic, anything in the third row might be a good choice but the cabinets will bring out the pink cast in some of them so be careful with your other colors.

please do not choose any of the granites on the top row or below the top. Cherry cabinets are dark and a dark countertops will only make your kitchen look like a cave. I like the one in the second row from the bottom and the second one away from the cabinet. It’s warm and rich, but not too dark.
