Jack is my nearly 8 month old labador retreiver. Hes potty trained, very good with kids, is in basic dog training and we go for a walk every single day. I watch Ceaser like constantly, so i know how important walking is for him, espcially since hes a big guy and a pup. He learns quickly mostly everything but he will not stop chewing stuff. Hes chewed up a wall, shoes, the linolium in the kitchen, hammers, tools, clothes, blankets, carpet is gone and now hes been working on our couch. I’ve tried the bitter apple sprays, other flavored sprays that supposed to deter him. I’ve got him bones to chew, toys etc but they’re just not enough i guess. I don’t know what else to do. We have to crate him whenever we leave the house, I don’t have a job so i’m here pretty much all day and stuff so he’s with me all day( or in the crate for very long i think thats mean). He’ll do his bad chewing anytime someone isn’t in the room, I could just hop in the shower and come out to a part of the couch cushion is all over the floor. when i walk in he runs away knowing he did wrong but he still does it. i just can’t get him to stop. we walk plenty i just don’t know.i appriciate any advice you can give.
also, he piddles every time someone comes over, like just gets uber excited and covers ppls shoes lol. its not a whole of piddle, just a bit. thankx.

give him/her a bone
HES TEETHING. lol Don’t worry, all puppies do this
It will stop eventually but it if keeps going let him that chewing is a No No
I think he has a couple of things going on. One is separation anxiety. Whenever you are not in sight, he becomes destructive. Two - he has submissive urination.
Here are a couple of articles. You also might want to consider talking to a professional behaviorist.

You can do additional research about these problems.
Good luck to you
chewing is due to boredom. walking is not enough for that breed. he constantly wants to learn and when he is not learning something or appl;ying his energy to something he will chew. practice his obedience and get puzzle toys and aggility toys
Try Tobasco Sauce. I tried the bitter apple spray and my pup would go over right after I sprayed it and lick it up. He wouldn’t touch tobasco though. Also 1 long walk a day is not enough exercize for a lab pup. Take him for 2 or more 1/2 an hour to hour long walk a day. As for the pee thing, he could be over excited or his bladder may be too full. Try taking him out to potty about 5 mins before your guests come over and see if that works. Good luck.
An 8 month old lab should not be chewing this much. Especially, if you have worked on it. I would get him checked out for a food allergy. My neighbor’s dog has an extreme allergy to all types of dog food. Because of this, the dog resulted in chewing up everything. Literally. That may not be the case with your dog. But I know that he definitely has a bad habit of it. Also, crating a dog is not mean. My dog loves his crate, it’s his spot where he goes to get away from things. Eventually, your dog will learn to love it too.
He is teething and so he will chew I went through that with King he is a German Shepard / Black Lab and a big boy when he was a puppy he chewed everything and his favorit s was the bed pillows so when we would go away I would have to pick everything up so he couldn’t get it and if I would get out of his sight he would start his chewing. I kept telling him no no and he is 2 yrs old now and is a little better he still like s the pillows lol
