We have stainless steel appliances (except for the broken white dishwasher) and light wood cabinets. I can’t seem to pick a color that makes sense.
Would it be better to paint the cabinets white and settle on a bright color. To make it more confusing, the floors are cherry wood. Please help. I’ve attached an image of the kitchen below.

Counter tops are actually dark grey but look greenish in the picture.

I don’t know but I think I just accidentally sat on my bagel.

I would not paint those beautiful cabinets. Choose something in the gold (1st choice), red or the green family. Gold would be sunny and energetic and will also enhance the stainless (gray). It will also harmonize with the cabinets and floor. The green would complement the red floors and be more calming. It was hard to tell what the counter top color was.
An easy way to decide is by placing fruit on your counter (I saw oranges there). It will help plus you get to eat them.
Then you can pick up your paint strips.
Well, are the counter tops dark green. What I did was paint the cabilnets and wall the same color and then the doors another color. I have black marble tile with burgandy walls and cabinets with off white doors and silver latches. It’s in an old farm house with rooster stuff. it looks really good. you may want to go ahead and pick out your decor and pick a color from that. i don’t know how you got the link on here or i’d give you a pick of mine i have it on my facebook. elizabeth jackson if you want to friend me for a look at it
Light sage or pale yellow would look the best for your kitchen and will go well with all existing colors in your home.

Painting the cabinets white would update and really brighten your kitchen.

Do not paint those cabinets. They are beautiful. My cabinets are the same color and
I have green counter tops. I painted opposite walls a blood/cherry red. It looks nice.
Choose light green color - shaded or muted. It will go beautifully with the natural golden cabinets and it will contrast the cherry floors.
White would be good for the cabinets. I’d go with a deep turquoisey blue or something for the walls. I’ve also had bright red in my kitchen and LOVED it.
This blue is so pretty.
