My roommate often uses the kitchen appliances to make food and boil tea. He usually makes enough tea to last him 4-5 days and continually reheats it in the pot he makes it in. I decided to see what was inside the pot and discovered some dark brown spots all over the pot. I’ve never felt so disgusted, I have no idea what it is but just looking at it makes me feel itchy. Do you think it’s bacteria. I tried washing it and it won’t come off.

its tanins from the tea black teas are fermented longer than greens or red teas so try wipeing them out with vinegar or clorox laundry bleach
Tea leaves have the ability to dye cookware/tupperware. That is why tea should not be left in pots for too long. The only thing that might do a little better at withstanding the dyeing properties of tea is glass.
I really doubt that you will be able to get the stains out.it isn’t bacteria though.
P.S.
Is that still the same roommate. LOL
