I love the plastic ones for their easy of cleaning and lights and sounds. And also the fact that they come with cute accessories ect. However I feel that they are SOOO overpriced for their actual size. The “lifestyles” ones are the ones I’ve been looking at and I cant pick on I like. The huge walk in one is too big. They have a larger and a “regular” sized one sided version. I saw the smaller of the two at toysrus and it seemed miniscule up on the shelf. We are getting it for our daughter for xmas. She will b 1 1/2 at the time, so I obviously want something that can either grow with her; or I wont feel bad about replacing. I’ve also been looking at the wodden kitchen from kidkraft, the Large Pastel Kitchen. I am concerned about spending $200 now and then in 3-4 years having to replace it because it is in terrible condidtion. She isnt rough with things (yet) but who knows. And we often have friends with kids comming over and they would of course play with it. I also am thinking of going with a smaller plastic one for now just because of the general size of them. We have a lab puppy who’s crate is currently taking up my dining room, which is where the kitchen will be until my daughter is much older (5-6). Are those small plastic “Lifestyle” ones a good buy in the end. I feel like they are SOO small that even as young as she is it wouldnt offer her much to do/play with. Any help.
thats so not true.maybe ur kids didnt play with it but I remember mine when I was little and I played with it all day everyday for YEARS.and although it wasnt huge, it was decent size. And I took great care of it.

I had one. Biggest pain in the butt ever. My kids really did not play with it and it took up too much room. If you have to get one, get the smallest one you can and get the cheapest one you can. It will just get messed up and broken and is not worth the money. I threw the one I had away because it was such a pain. Your child is not going to have a bad childhood because she did not have a life sized kitchen toy to play with.
Mam, I think I would go with the Large Pastel Kitchen, because in that way she would enjoy this, and I’m sure she will take good care of it, and she could grow with it, and you would have got your money’s worth out of it.Because I think if you got the plastic one, over time the plastic might splinter, and hurt her,and plastic is prone to break sooner, ya think. Just my opinion.
I wouldn’t buy one at her age yet. The ideal age would be 3 and like others have said, many kids don’t put them to use too often. It’s your choice though.
i’m a mommy to 3 girls and my little ones love to play dress up and tea party.
we have a nice wooden playset from pottery barn kids but we bought it last year when my kids were 8,6,and 5. It cost about 500 bucks but they play with it every day and it’s super sturdy. I wouldn’t recommend buying one like this until your daughter is much older.
when my kids were babies (your daughter’s age) I bought a simple plastic one from fisher price (or playschool-can’t remember brand). the reason for this was babies like noise, music, and bright colors. the wooden playset was more suited for older kids. they loved their “baby sized” kitchens and played with them often (I only replaced it once during the 4 years we had it). the plastic ones are alot more sturdy than you think they are and should hold up just fine.
here are some models that would be perfect for your daughter’s age

Hello,
I found some good ones on this site. There are even some made of wood, so they seem to be quite sturdy.
Just click the link, and type “kitchen” into the search:

I hope you can find what you’re looking for.
Good Luck.
