Kitchen Appliances

I m still single (as you know) and i m planning to finish my apartment (tashteeb) as finishing materials prices are soaring month after month, year after year.
This involves to make modeling decisions about my apartment, like lighting locations, kitchen arrangement, bath finishing colors, and it could involve purchasing some furniture like bath and kitchen fixtures and maybe kitchen appliances, and some built-in closets, and book shelves.

but i m afraid when i finally get engaged the future fiance would ask to change colors or some things. and i m afraid when i say know she would see me as not understanding her needs, or view me as tightfisted man who only cares about money.
i mean most girls like to share her taste in her future home, i understand that, but also i don’t want to apply materials and pay for costs that would change again in less than a year or 2.

Another reason is that i want to move in there independently even if i m still single, i love staying with my parents. and i m starting to have bigger needs and need bigger space than before. and be responsible for my own food and laundry (i already do my own laundry but not food yet). and come and stay with them by weekend for 2-3 days.

so what do you think.
to finish my apartment and convince my future fiance as much as i can(if this ever going to happen in my life:).
or just to postpone it little bit.
or finish it with low cost materials. but even though walls location, kitchen, bath arrangements, lighting planning are hardware work and should be done.
