After 3 months of nervous breakdowns (not really) at my stressful job, I finally have an assistant and he is AWESOME. He has only been with me for a month, but the office we acquired is 60 miles away and he commutes daily with the most cheerful demeanor and professionalism I have ever seen in a 23 year old man. He even offers to stay late whenever he sees me stressing over a project that can’t wait. It really can, but I can be OCD, at times.
I found his registry on BB&B and the only items left are towels and kitchen utensils. He has tons of dishes and cookware already, so what is a good gift to give. The wedding is in August, so I have plenty of time. Considering that we (the department, 12 people) barely know him, we don’t want to make him uncomfortable, but this is a special occasion and everyone has fallen completely in love with him. So, we do want to offer an appropriate gift.

So give the dude some towels. He registered for them, obviously he would be pleased to receive them. I always like to give linens because they elicit such grateful thank-yous.
Neutrogena Helioplex
personally. money OR find out where they are going on their honeymoon and unless it’s an all inclusive resort — dinner out OR a “credit” on their bill and flowers in their room upon arrival.
what about something not on the registry. But very original in it’s own way. Like a set of his and hers silk boxing robes ( like the kind you see the pros wear) or what about his and hers shower robes personalized with their names. it may cost a little more but it will be greatly remembered and appreciated.
How about buying the towels and supplimenting with a gas card since he commutes so far. That is sure to be appreciated by the newlyweds.
I like to combine something from the registry with something OFF the registry. For example when my boss got married, she registered for this cake pan at Crate and Barrel that had daisy pattern in it. It was sort of like a bundt pan, and she absolutely loved it. I got it for her, but I also gave her a pack of recipe cards with 2 of my favorite bundt cake recipes on 2 of the cards.
For my stepson and his wife, I got them the electric griddle they registered for, but I also went to Williams and Sonoma and got them some gourmet pancake mixes and pancake forms to make the pancakes into shapes.
If all that’s left is kitchen utensils, and there are 12 people in the office, maybe you could get 12 different utensils. Then have each person pick a utensil and give a recipe they would use that utensil for. Like if one is a pastry cutter, that person would give a recipe for pie crust or biscuits; if another is a pancake turner, a recipe for pancakes; garlic press, a recipe for pasta sauce.and so on and so on. Someone in the office could make a recipe book, and each person would have their name on the card, so he will know who donated the recipe. If you want to spend a little more money than the cost of the 12 utensils, then get them a gift card to BB&B for anything else they didn’t get, or to a grocery store, so they can get the ingredients to make all the great recipes.
If he’s got wine glasses.maybe the way to go is FILL them.with some NICE wines from Chile or Argentina (my personal preferences).

Why not a Visa gift card for use on his honeymoon - or if you know where he is going something specific for that. For example - one friend of mine went to Disney World for her honeymoon, we all chipped in and bought her a bunch of Disney Dollars to spend while she is there.
gift certificate to a great restaurant for him and his wife, AMEX gift card, travelers checks for the honeymoon, an extra few days paid vacation
