It’s for a design problem that I want to give my students. It’s a kitchen that they need to redesign.
My students are studying interior design. I have a floor plan for the existing kitchen, and was given the total square footage. I just want them to practice redesigning this space, for a theoretical remoder. Therefore I needed the overall Length x width. Your formulas are great. I just don’t remember all that much about Pi and stuff. Thanks for everyone here that tried to make it user friendly for me. You guys rock.
That’s “remodel” up there(no edit option.)

if its round, it cnt hv width,
it has a radius
wht u sayin totals 675 sq fts, so did u calcuate is by pi* radius *(power 2).
Area = pi * r²
r = sqrt(Area/pi)
r = sqrt(675/pi)
width = 2*r
width = 2*sqrt(675/pi) ~~ 29.316150714175195295183077370301
area of room= pi * radius^2
pi*r^2=675
r^2=214.859
r=14.6581
width of room=2*r
WIDTH OF ROOM=29.31 APPROXIMATE
By width u mean diameter right
area = 675 = pi(radius)^2
so radius=sqrt(675/pi)
so width of room= 2*radius which comes to be about 29.2
A=pi*r^2
r^2=A/pi =675/3.14=214.97
take square root Ans. 14.66 radius
well the area of a circle is a=pi*r^2
so 675ft^2= 3.14*r^2
215=r^2
r= ~14.66
If you are creating this problem you may want to make it so that the students get a clear number, not .66. just a suggestion.
