My fiance and i just got a house built. We’re trying to figure out some really cute color schemes. We also have hardwood floors in our kitchen. Any interior designers out there, your suggestions would be appreciated.
Note: Also, the living room is very close to the kitchen and we were planning on doing tan walls with one accent wall of navy blue (it goes well with the couch we bought) I dont know if that will affect the kitchen at all

Your living room will affect the kitchen. If it is an open floor plan, they should really be similar colors.
If not, then make sure whatever color you paint your kitchen co-ordinates with the living room - mostly, needs to go well with the wall that has the kitchen door. You don’t want to look into the kitchen and see a color that clashes. Maybe use your accent color (a third color) from your living room as the kitchen color. You can take the third color from the couch if you would like. Luckily, tan and navy are easy to work with.
With dark cabinets and appliances, I would be tempted to go with a lighter color. You can also look at faux finishes or something like that for your kitchen - something slightly shimmery might look nice. You can also put someting different on the wall between the upper & lower cabinets if they fill a wall.
Hope this helps a little bit.

I’m not sure what color “autumn” is, but I visualize a dark amber color. Are the cabinets painted or stained.
With that in mind you’ve created a complimentary color scheme with the navy blue.
If the cabinets are painted, go to the paint store and find the strip of paint with your color on it, then pick a lighter shade on that strip and use it for your walls.
kitchen add some reds and oranges it will make the darker wood look very nice. maybe hints of yellow for some brightness.
Go to Housetohome.co.uk,click on room inspirations then click on a room you want to see.If your kitchen and living room are not an open-plan,then the living room will not effect what you do in your kitchen. If it is an open-plan just mix and match your colors to bring the two room together.I think that deep rich colors like in the victorian style, would go good with dark countertops, appliances and autumn colored cabinets.Colors such as,golden yellow, mauve, deep purple, forest green, warm red or blue etc.The golden yellow would be best and it will go good with the living room color.Good Luck finding the right color, but when it’s all done and over with at the end of the day,it’s what you like and what you think looks good together, your style should reflect your personality.
