We just pulled up our old cabinets and am wanting to know if we should put down tile under where the new cabinets are going or can we just put the cabinets down on top of the backer board and just tile the rest of the kitchen around the cabinets. Thanks for any information.

It doesn’t make sense to tile under cabinets since they have to be shimmed to be level for the counter top. However, if you do not wish to cut a whole bunch of tiles to go around the cabinets, and it would be easier to tile with the cabinets removed, it won’t hurt a thing. It is a matter of choice. Best of luck.
Just tile right up to the cabinets and not underneath - in that way you would save a few bucks on the extra tiles, grout and tile sement that would have come underneath the cabinets.
