Family Produced and Marketed-Miele Dishwashers
Miele is the largest family-owned company to manufacture home appliances. Founded in 1899 by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann,
the company is run today by their great grandchildren. In 1929 Miele gave Europe the first electric dishwasher. After that,
Miele has been in the forefront of dishwasher development. By 1960 Miele developed their first completely automatic
dishwasher with a front-loading feature. These were upgraded by 1967 to be built-in dishwashers with three spray arms and a
water softener. The technology of t he controls advanced to sensor controls in 1978, which helped reduce wasting water and
energy. Miele was on the cutting edge in 1987 when they first patented a third-level tray for cutlery. Size became the new
selling point for dishwashers, so Miele developed a tub to hold 14-place settings in 1994. The electronic age spread to Miele
dishwashers as every model became fully electronically controlled in 1999. This year, 2006, has seen the introduction of
their G2000 Series.
Miele dishwashers are designed to last for 20 years without becoming obsolete. Using fiber optics technology, a technician
can update cycles with advanced technology at any time technology requires such updates. Other features include a water hater
to keep temperatures constant and delicate plastic items from melting if place on the lower rack. Loading is made easier with
folding tines, a system to support plates and bowls at three points, and baskets that carefully support delicate stemware.
Miele also has unique features for cleaner dishes. The Miele dishwashers have a 3-tiered filtration system with a micro-fine
mesh filter that keeps residue off the dishes and broken down fine enough not to harm septic systems. Other residues often
occur from minerals in the water supply. Miele dishwashers eliminate these with a softening system that senses the water
hardness and adds salt as needed.
The Miele dishwashers can have one of three drying systems. Each is energy efficient and does not leave spots on the dishes.
The first drying system uses stored thermal energy to dry the dishes. The second system, called CleanAir, sucks in air from
the room, spreads it through specific chambers around the outside dishwasher cavity, and creates condensation of the water
inside against the walls instead of the dishes. It does not allow the outside air to touch the dishes, so they will remain
sanitized. The third system, called Turbothermic, forces cool room air into the washtub speeding up drying time.
Miele also offers quiet operation. Each dishwasher is ranked on their scale of 1 to 5 to show its level of noise. Even a 1
rating is quiet, so you can rest assured that none of the Miele dishwashers will have you leaving t he kitchen to complete a
phone conversation because of a noisy dishwasher. If you find that your Miele dishwasher is too noisy for you, Miele will
refund your money within 90 days of your purchase.
Beautifully designed, Miele dishwashers will complement any kitchen džcor. The door panels can be stainless steel, black,
white, or customized to match your cabinetry. You can also have the controls hidden inside the door panel to provide a sleek,
seamless look.
The new G2000 series has 12 models to choose from. There are 2 models in the Platinum Anniversary series. The G800 series has
4 models. With such selection, one of t he Miele dishwashers is sure to fit your style and budget. Every Miele dishwasher is
EnergyStar qualified so that you know they are energy efficient and will qualify for utility rebates if they are offered in
your area.
Miele offers excellent customer support through their dealers or directly through the company. You can find a dealer of these
German-built dishwashers by using the dealer locator feature on Miele’s webpage. You must use an authorized Miele dealer to
keep the warranty valid.
