DEVELOP A LAYOUT
When planning the outdoor kitchen layout,
consider the flow of people during outdoor
cooking and entertaining as well as the flow
from inside the house to outside. Where will
you grill? Will the person grilling also use the
side burners or oven? Where should the bar
and refreshment center be? Will you have bar
height seating or standing areas? Will you
have outdoor plumbing? Will you pipe in
natural gas or LP? Where do you put the
electrical outlets? As you can see, with a full
outdoor kitchen rather than just a grill, more
questions must be answered. Many people are
using the services of an architect, landscape
architect, kitchen designer or even an interior
designer to plan the outdoor kitchen layout so
they can get the most useful design for their
outdoor entertaining and personal use.
The availability of professional outdoor
appliances extends from standard grills to
steakhouse-like infrared grills, standard
ovens, smoker ovens, pizza ovens, Tandoori
clay ovens, wok burners, warming drawers,
under counter refrigerators, under counter
drawer refrigerators, ice makers, beer
dispensers, wine coolers, refreshment centers,
dishwashers with more coming all the time!
Complex outdoor cabinets are available too to
handle things like hidden trash cans, blind
corner storage, hose storage, pool supplies
storage, etc. all of which can blend together
for a consistent look. Choose your location
and any layout using a combination of
cabinets and appliances. Since the kitchen is
made up of individual cabinets, they can be
arranged in virtually any combination
allowing for true customization.
The cabinets are available in standard 3
increments or in custom sizes. All cabinets are
27 7/8 deep (check for your appliance) except
Viking s which are 29 7/8 deep. The
appliance manufacturer and model number
must be supplied with the order so the
appropriate cutout can be put in the cabinet.
